The ruins of Beit Shaddad and Beit Albert Wakim in Tyre, Lebanon

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: View over the Northwestern part of the Christian quarter (Harat El Masihiye) in Tyre/Sour, Southern Lebanon, overlooking the touristic Al 5Arab Street, seen from the roof of "Florina's Guest House": to the right are the ruins of "Beit Albert Wakim", adjacent to the Maronite Cathedral "Our Lady of the Seas". It was heavily damaged in the 1978 South Lebanon conflict through an aerial bombardment by the Israel Air Force, which destroyed the neighbouring "Beit Shaddad" (left).
