DescriptionTwo bungalows in Saxonburg, Pa (3).jpg | Although it was a gray, winter day (a redundant phrase in Western PA) I took my camera along on my walk to and around Saxonburg. It is a small borough (fewer than 2000 residents) and about 170 years old. There are a handful of homes of nearly every decade and style in the village. Bungalows were popular nationwide in the 20s. These two frame examples are neighbors and had similar, but distinct, detailing. The upper one has accreted some Victorian looking gingerbread at some stage. The gabled dormer on the lower one extends to the rear, affording more space (which might be an addition). Part of a series on bungalows in Saxonburg, Pa. | ||
