Title |
Tutulus Type plate brooch |
||
Description |
English: Disc brooch with a coloured glass cone in the centre. Glass is mottled dark brown and cream in colour. The metal surrounding the central cone is divided into two concentric circles of equal width by a thin bead which is repeated on the edge to form a low rim around the brooch perimeter. The circles are infilled with incised fine wavy line decoration which has been gilded. A substantial amount of the gilding remains. The hinge and catchplate remain. Pin is missing. |
