Summary
[edit]DescriptionTurnaware Bar at Low Spring tide - geograph.org.uk - 1184308.jpg |
English: Turnaware Bar at Low Spring tide At Low Springs, the full extent of Turnaware Bar is revealed as a deposit of hard, barnacle encrusted stones and gravel.
On a few days each year the exposed Bar extends almost as far as the green Turnaware Buoy (right top of picture). Holiday makers are attracted to easy pickings of native oysters living there but risk the anger of oyster fishermen, who have paid for the privilege of harvesting them the traditional way. |
