DescriptionTulip pond.jpg | The Ottawa Tulip Festival is one of the biggest in the world with over 3 million tulips. Ottawa provided a safe haven for members of the Dutch royal family during World War 2 who began a tradition of gifting thousands of tulip bulbs each year to the people of Canada to symbolize international friendship. The Rideau Canal is on the upper left. On the horizon there is the Aberdeen Pavilion or 'Cattle Castle' and the Lansdowne Park stadium . This pond used to contain a resident population of mega-gigantic fish. They had not put them back in when this photo was taken, I am assuming these fish spend the winter indoors somewhere? | ||
