Summary
[edit]DescriptionTulip Poplar leaves after attack from Yellow Polar Weevils.JPG | Liriodendron tulipifera leaves after they have been eaten by yellow poplar weevils, Odontopus calceatus. This pest is native to the same range as the trees. Every few years they emerge in large numbers and cause many leaves to turn brown and significant leaf loss. The summer of 2015 saw significant leaf damage in Ohio and West Virginia from this pest. This photo was taken in Eastern Ohio. |
