Title |
English: Tug "Trio" at Seattle waterfront, circa 1915 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
English: In 1911, the Reid brothers built the "Trio" as a shrimpboat at their Decatur, Washington, shipyard. After several years of shrimp fishing in Puget Sound, the "Trio" was converted into a tugboat.
This photo, taken sometime in the 1910s, shows the "Trio" at Colman Dock on the Seattle waterfront. The tugboat's decks are loaded with sails. The "Trio" may have been delivering sails and other goods for Sunde & d'Evers, a firm of ship chandlers. Ship chandlers supplied a large variety of food, hardware and other materials to ships visiting Seattle.
