Tricholoma manzanitae T.J. Baroni & Ovrebo Image location: Bolinas Ridge, Marin Co., California, USA Growing with Manzanita and Chinkapin. Caps up to 8.9 cm across and tacky. Spore print white. Spores ~ 5.3-6.3 X 4.1-4.6 microns, ellipsoid and smooth. Gills and stem tend to stain reddish rapidly. Habitat seems to indicate T. manzanitae over T. dryophilum plus the staining and more orange brown colors. Recognized by sight
