Summary
[edit]DescriptionTrento-fountain of Neptune-triton by Davide Rigatti.jpg |
English: Trento (Italy): triton on the fountain of Neptune in piazza del Duomo. This statue is a further copy made in the 1920 by Davide Rigatti of the copies made in 1871 by Andrea Malfatti of the original statues, after it crashed down to the ground under the weight of the crowd gathered for the cerimony of annexation of Trento to the Kingdom of Italy. This statue has been made using ordinary local stone (reddish) instead of the calcareous stone of Arco as the other statues of the fountain, foreseeing the substitution of all statues.
