Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Trent and Mersey canal towards Swarkestone, Derbyshire. The Trent and Mersey Canal is 93.5 miles in length, and links the River Trent near Derwent Mouth with the River Mersey (formerly) at Runcorn, via the Bridgewater canal near Manchester. In recent years many canal towpaths have been improved specifically to encourage use by cyclists who enjoy routes away from motor traffic. Here, the National Cycle Route 6, known as the Cloud Trail, connects Derby to Leicester, passing close by Swarkestone, Melbourne and King's Newton.
