[edit]DescriptionTranvía riachuelo.png |
English: The tramway that had sunk in the Riachuelo while being removed from water by a group of workers, the day after the tragedy. The vehicle had departured from Lanús and had 63 people inside at the moment of the accident, that happened when the driver (Italian immigrant Juan Vesco) attempted to cross the Bosch bridge without realising that the spans were opened to allow the passage of a boat, due to the thick fog. As a result, the tram fell into the river: 56 people died and only 7 survived the tragedy.
