specimens I found15 joints in the flagellum of the upper antenna and 7 in the lower, whilein full-sized specimens there were about ^5 in the upper and 21 in thelower. In the male, peculiar * sensory capsules are found on both antennae.They are to be found on the last two joints of the peduncle and on theproximal half of the flagellum of the upper antenna ; on the distal halfsimple sensory set« (fig. 4 h) are found on every other joint. The sensorycapsules are also present on all the joints of the flagellum of the lowerantenna except the last two or three. They are cup-shaped and slightlyconstricted towards the middle, and they are situated on a slight protuber-ance of the joint of the flagellum (fig. 4 a). On the peduncle of the upperantenna of the male there are other peculiar-looking setae which areevidently sensory.
