During the past year theAssociation has become affiliated with the Student ChristianMovement of Canada, a movement embracing all students, menand women, throughout the Dominion, which is attempting toform a closer bond of federation between the various Christianorganizations in the Canadian Universities and to promote Chris-tian work in them. Membership in the Y.M.C.A. is open to all students in theFaculty, and the Association seeks, through study, prayer andother means, an understanding of Jesus, and invites into itsfellowship all students who are willing to test the validity of theconviction upon which the association is founded. The work during the past year has been carried on underthe leadership of F. W. Dunton, President of the Association inthe Faculty of Applied Science. Classes were organized to studythe life and teachings of Jesus under the leadership of ProfessorC. H. C. Wright, Prof. J. Roy Cockburn and Dr. Sharman, as 140 THE TRANSACTIONS

FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCE Y.M.C.A. 141 well as several groups led by students. These groups have beenof great interest and help to the students throughout the year. A group of those who were interested in Boys Work andCommunity Service was organized, and met once a week through-out the year. Prominent men in boys work addressed the classon problems relating to the teen age boy, and an opportunity wasgiven to the members of the group to lead a class of boys duringthe week. The Y.M.C.A. has been active not only along lines of study,but in extending a welcome to the first year men. Hand-bookscontaining useful information for the students have been distri-buted, a rooming list has been kept, as well as a book exchange.At the beginning of the year a reception was held in Hart Housefor the first year men, at which the aims of the Association werepresented to those present. On the whole, it may be said that the year has been suc-cessful, but those who are interested in the aims of the Assoc
