Bahasa Indonesia: Tradisi sedekah gunung merapi yang dilangsungkan pada malam satu suro (penanggalan Jawa) di Selo Boyolali, Jawa Tengah merupakan perayaan sakral dengan melarungkan kepala kerbau berjenis kelamin betina ke kawah gunung merapi, yang dimana tujuan dari tradisi ini untuk memberikan penghormatan kepada danyang atau penunggu dari gunung merapi. Selain sakral tradisi sedekah gunung merapi ini merupakan perayaan yang paling ditunggu-tunggu oleh masyarakat lokal maupun internasional. Antusiasme masyarakat tersebut dibuktikan dengan rasa penasaran mereka terhadap pertunjukan tarian yang ditampilkan sebelum acara puncaknya prosesi melarungkan kepala kerbau di kawah gunung merapi.
English: The tradition of Mount Merapi alms which is held on the night of one suro (Javanese calendar) in Selo Boyolali, Central Java is a sacred celebration by throwing the head of a female buffalo into the crater of Mount Merapi, where the purpose of this tradition is to pay homage to danyang or guardians from the mountain. merapi.
