Title |
Toy hammer |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete toy lead-alloy hammer. The head of the hammer is oval in section and has tapers then expands to a terminal with an oval face. The face has a small circular perforation in the centre. The back of the head is decorated with zigzag lines. The integral short circular shaft of the hammer is hollow. At the neck of the shaft is a small loop, which attaches to the head of the hammer. Near the loop are the letters ‘SE[.]’ which are written vertically down the shaft. The length of the head is 22.4mm, the length of the shaft is 9.5mm, the diameter of the shaft is 8.0mm and the weight is 14.75g. The hammer probably dates to the post-medieval period, though no parallels have been found. |
