Locality: Himalaya Mine (Himalaya pegmatite; Himalaya dikes), Gem Hill, Mesa Grande District, San Diego County, California, USA (Locality at mindat.org)
A BEAUTIFUL, gemmy, lustrous and pristine, doubly terminated, multi-colored tourmaline with sharp, purple lepidolite books on one side from the famous Himalaya Mine. Most of this fine crystal is a pleasing watermelon-pink, but one termination is VERY RARE, for tourmaline, YELLOW color (well, yellowy-green to be sure, but more yellow than you normally see). Old dealer stock of Dr. Gary Hansen and not shown since the early 1980s! 5.7 x 3.6 x 3.5 cm
