English: The Tour de la Lanterne (XV-XX) is one of the three old towers of the sea front in La Rochelle, France. Historic monument of France since 1879. In foreground, a part of the remains of the medieval fortifications. The little tower beside was a lighthouse.
Français : La "Tour de la Lanterne", (XVème siècle) aussi connue sous le nom de "Tour des Quatre Sergents", est une des trois tours du front de mer, gardant l'entrée du port de La Rochelle. Monument historique depuis 1879.Au premier plan, une des rares parties subsistantes des fortifications médiévales. L'ensemble a été restauré au début du XX ème siècle. La petite tourelle vitrée était un phare où était entretenu un feu. |
