Description
English: The moon sits in full lunar eclipse over the headquarters of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing here Oct. 8, 2014. A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon's orbit places Earth directly between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow across the lunar surface. The next total lunar eclipse will take place March 20, 2015.
