English: Tornesch (Germany) - Gerberweg 14 - Farm Cyrus - Year of construction: 1910 - Demolition: after 2009 - Photo: 2009
The photo shows the residential building of the farm Cyrus (yard 26 according to “Erdbuch” from 1788). The house was built in 1910, after the thatched-roof predecessor building had been demolished. The client was the Esinger merchant Arthur Cyrus. It is a two-storey building in the “Heimatstil” with a risalit in the middle. The brick facade is decorated by plaster elements and the recessed entrance is elaborately designed. The farm was in operation until 1971. In 2000, the confectionery company Hanns G. Werner GmbH bought the land to expand their premises and to build another factory building. For this purpose, the pictured building was demolished.
