Summary

Description

English: Sunset at Wilder Tower in Chickamauga Battlefield. The lighting of the tower battlement gives the impression of a lit torch. Wilder Tower was built to honor Col. John T. Wilder and his men, the Lightning Brigade. Work on the monument began in 1892 and was completed in 1904. Money to build the tower was raised via private funds, much of which came from Wilder's surviving men.
