Deutsch: Aus den Stereo-Bilddaten des HRSC-Aufnahmesystems lassen sich digitale Geländemodelle ableiten, die jedem Bildpunkt auf der Marsoberfläche einen Höhenwert zuordnen. Das Bezugsniveau für die Höhenwerte ist das sogenannte Areoid, eine gedachte Fläche gleicher Anziehungskraft, die dem Meeresspiegel auf der Erde entspricht. Anhand der Farbskala rechts oben im Bild lässt sich die Verteilung der Höhenwerte anschaulich ablesen.
