Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "This is the Tomb of the Lady Leah ... upon her be the Peace." Cave of Machpelah, Hebron, Palestine.
The actual Arabic text on the sign says: هذا قبر سيّدتنا لائقة رضي الله عنها زوجة النبي يعقوب عليه السلام — "This is the tomb of our lady Lāʼiqah, may God be pleased with her, the wife of the prophet Jacob, peace be upon him." Lāʼiqah is an Arabic word meaning 'worthy'; the actual Arabic form of Leah's name is Liyā or Liʼah.
