English: The testimony of the traditional identification of the tomb, at least in Roman times. Pausanias: Description of Greece (Ἑλλάδος περιήγησις) X, 24. Čeština: Svědectví o tradiční identifikaci této hrobky, alespoň v římské době. Pausaniás: Cesta po Řecku (Ἑλλάδος περιήγησις) X, 24.
Když se Pausaniás zabývá v +2. století památkami v Delfách (X, 24, 2), popisuje mezi památkami kolem Apollónova chrámu také nápis na podstavci Homérovi sochy, který se týká ostrova Íu. Text nápisu zní: „...ostrov Íos je matčina vlast, ta jednou tě přijme, až budeš mrtev spát...“ Pausaniás tento nápis komentuje: „Obyvatelé Íu ukazují na svém ostrově Homérovu mohylu, z druhé pak strany památník Klymeny, domnělé Homérovy matky.“ |
