Description
Deutsch: Gletscherkessel Präg
1994 wurde das Naturschutzgebiet "Gletscherkessel Präg" ausgewiesen. Mit einer Fläche von über 2800 ha ist es das zweitgrößte Naturschutzgebiet Baden-Würtenbergs. In seinem Zentrum liegt der durch eiszeitliche Vorgänge geschaffene Präger Talkessel mit dem historischen Schwarzwalddorf Präg. Während der Würmeiszeit vor ca. 10-20000 Jahren sind hier sechs Gletscher zusammengeflossen, deren aufgestautes Eis stellenweise eine Mächtigkeit von über 500m erreichte.
