Summary
[edit]DescriptionTitanic Memorial Plaque, Belfast City Hall - geograph.org.uk - 1748132.jpg |
English: Titanic Memorial Plaque, Belfast City Hall BBC Environment correspondent Mike McKimm travelled 12,850 feet to the wreckage lying in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, getting a fascinating glimpse of the ill-fated liner, see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4342990.stm
The inscription reads, "This memorial plaque was taken down to the Titanic, placed on the bridge for a few moments, removed back to Titanic's home city of Belfast. A replica plaque has been left on the Titanic" Even the short time this plaque was submersed in the watery depths resulted in a deterioration of the metal |
