Description Acute pfiesteriosis in tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) exposed to Pfiesteria shumwayae under laboratory conditions. (A) Normal appearance of control fish, head region. (B) Normal appearance of flank. (C) Petecchial hemorrhage over operculum after acute lethal exposure. (D) Focal erythema caudal to pectoral fin (arrowhead), loss of mucus coat, epidermis, and scales along flank (arrows).
