| Description |
English: Thulachan Lodge In 1872 the shooting tenant wrote 'at Chullacan was a very primitive farmhouse with a small cooking space, and a room for us to serve as a sitting room and bedroom. The farmer's room was at the other end of the house, and in his case the smoke found its way through the hole in the roof'.
The building must have been extended after that date. It was still in use by shooting parties in the 1960s but is now in poor condition. Thulachan is very remote but the archaeological remains around this location show that it has a long history of human occupation. |
