| Description |
English: Thornton Stud A country house created out of the stable block of the former mansion. The original house [late 17thC] stood in front of, and slightly to the left of the building in the picture. The Vyner family [see Newby Hall and Fountains Abbey Estates] owned the house in the early 20thC, and it appears to have been demolished before 1950. The current house [with land] was last sold in 2004 for £7.75m. |
