Description
Deutsch: Altar der Thomaskirche, Leipzig, Entwurf von Paul Heermann. Inneres nach Osten, Zustand 1815-1884 vor dem Umbau von 1885. Nach dem Aquarell von Hubert Kratz, Leipzig vor 1885.
Der barocke Portikus-Altar oder Bornsche-Altar in der Thomaskirche zu Leipzig war von 1721 bis 1887 dort aufgestellt. Benannt ist er nach dem Mäzen Dr. Jacob Born (1638–1709), Präsident des Leipziger Konsistoriums. Die wesentlichen Künstler waren: Giovanni Maria Fossati und der Bildhauer Paul Heermann (1673–1732).
