Autel à Thien Hau Salle d'assemblée Trung Hoa (Hoi An)

Thien Hau est pour les chinois la déesse protectrice des marins. On l'appelle également la Dame Céleste. Elle est une des formes prises par le Bodhissattva Avalokiteshvara.

Deux temples dédiés à Thien Hau existent à Hoi An, ils dépendent de deux communautés chinoises distinctes de navigateurs et de commerçants.

Ces temples font partie de maisons communales (ou de corporation). Ils sont gérés par un conseil des patriarches et sont entretenus par les membres des communautés chinoises.
