Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe wood pile in Freeholders Wood - geograph.org.uk - 698021.jpg |
English: The wood pile in Freeholders Wood Now somewhat reduced in size since January, this pile of wood is made available to villagers in Carperby who merely have to collect it. The wood pile is a result of coppicing work done by YDNP staff and volunteers who continue the tradition of coppicing the wood. Thirty properties in Carperby have 'estover' rights in Freeholders Wood, which means that the residents of these houses have the right to collect wood, although these days the hard work is done for them. |
