From the grounds of the power station can be seenthree states, the name Kenova standing for the three—Ken, forKentucky: 0. for Ohio, and Va, for Virginia. The building is constructed in a thoroughly fireproof manner.The materials used were dark red brick with gray sandstone founda-tion and trimmings. Its size is 150x120 ft., which allows ampleroom for the present eciuipment and added space for the accommo-dation of all the apparatus which will be needed for some time tocome. This structure, which was built by Caldwell. Drake & Co.,of Columbus, Tnd., has a slate roof 45 ft. above the engine roomfloor, supported by steel trusses furnished by the Cracket Bridge engine, to an overhead bunker.
