The cars are in use everyalternate day only, and are thoroughly inspected during the dayfollowing each days run, and it may be stated here that thethoroughness with which the inspection is made and the timewhich is devoted to it has proved to be time and money wellspent, as during more than a year that the company has beenoperating there has never been an armature burned out on theroad, although much heavy work has been done by the cars,especially during the last season in removing the snow. Thereare no snow plows, sweepers or track scrapers used on this road,yet in spite of the severity of the winter and the fact that almostall of the interurban lines in Ohio and Indiana were more orless crippled during the past winter and had their schedules badlyderanged at times, the Western Ohio Railway Co, lost but a singletrip throughout the whole winter and the cars were but veryrarely off the schedule time. RBPIAIK SIKHS .\T \V.M.\KONET.\. considerable use of compressed air in cleaning cars and motorsand for hoisting, and there is now being installed in the shopa Christensen type L continuous running stationary compressorand a 75-ft. air tank to provide compressed air forthese purposes. There is also being built in the shopat present a 5-ton traveling crane with a span of30 ft. and a travel of 64 ft. A drop section of thepit tracks is aho being installed to facilitate the re-moval of wheels and axles from under the cars. The carpenter shop is equipped with a 30-in. Oliverhand planer and jointer, an Oliver saw bench and(inc wood lathe. The shop is driven by a ro-h. pWestinghouse shunt wound motor and is lighted bymeans of arc lamps.
