Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe original Island Gardens station - geograph.org.uk - 1271870.jpg |
English: The original Island Gardens station. A view from road level of the elevated platforms and central lift shaft / staircase at the original Island Gardens DLR station. The glass and polycarbonate dome was deliberately designed to mimic the shape of the nearby foot tunnel entrance 1164269. Another contributor's views at platform level are seen in 104392 and 104812.
It was at this station on 30 July 1987 that Queen Elizabeth formally opened the first DLR route from here to Tower Gateway. |
