  • Commissioned as a British sloop of war in 1813 and under Captain Richard Walter Wales captured many ships during the War of 1812. She was captured by the United States sloop of war Peacock on April 29, 1814. In 1815, she was used to stop the harassment of the Dey of Algiers against American shipping. Epervier was carrying a copy of the treaty with Algiers when she disappeared enroute to the United States during the summer of 1815.
