*^ •=!?> THIS, GENTLEMEN, IS THE FAMOUSBIDWELL FABRIC! This fabric contains the occulta vis of pneumatic tires, the true secret and real principle of all pneu-matic tires. You are well acquainted with the earnest efforts that wrested from nature this last valuablesecret, and how reluctantly she yielded to mans control this new domain of knowledge. If you will examine the peculiar properties of this wonderful fabric you will appreciate the difficultiesunder which those people labor who undertake to build a pneumatic tire upon any other principle. And youwill perceive how their persistent efforts must carry them further and further from the wished-for goal. The great French critic, M. Taine, once remarked that the essential character of a lion is his jaws.Scientifically speaking, a lion is only a pair of enormous jaws mounted upon four paws—everything else abouthim is accessory. So it is, gentlemen, with the pneumatic tire. The fabric is its essential character. Every-thing else
