Shipping at St. Thomas 63 entry is extended twenty-four hours for each interveninghoHday. When clearing a vessel, the master shall sign theclearance, which, if it be for a foreign port, may bemade under general heads, such as provisions, dry-goods, etc. But according to the old regulations ifit was destined for the mother country or another ofthe Danish West Indies the report of the whole cargomust specify marks, numbers, contents, net or grossweight, and measurement of gauge, and must statewhether the goods are exported for account of themaster or others. Upon arrival of all vessels, before pratique is allowedwith the shore, the vessel is boarded by the HealthOfficer of the port, to whom the bill of health from thelast port is to be delivered. Passengers and crew areto be lined up for inspection. The cost of this visit isfor a ship or any other three-masted vessel, brig, brigan-tine, or any steamer of two hundred tons or upward,$3.00; for a schooner, sloop, or smaller vessel, $2.00.B
