ONE OF THE SIX SMALL STEAMERS BUILT BY THE TWIN CITIESRAPID TRANSIT COMPANY park now being developed on Big Island in the middle of thelake. The park, which contains about 60 acres, covers theeast end of the island. It is high above the water, and con-sists of rolling land covered with elm and other natural foresttrees. One section is being provided with roller coaster, mys-tic chutes, dancing pavilions, and similar amusement features,while another portion willbe kept in its natural state.A feature of the park willbe the open-air kitchens,equipped with stoves forthe free use of picnic par-ties in making coffee orwarming food. Facilitieswill be provided for bath-ing, and plans provide foran extensive concretebathing pavilion. A complete water workssystem is being installed.Water from a deep wellwill be pumped by an elec-tric driven pump whichwill obtain its power fromthe sub-station, to whichprevious reference hasbeen made. This sub-sta-tion will be provided with a motor generator set
