Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Strangford Lough ferry (10) - geograph.org.uk - 1181766.jpg |
English: The Strangford Lough ferry (10). See 591372. The powerful effect of the sea passing through the Strangford Narrows is well known. The route taken by the ferry varies with each sailing. It is dependant on the state of the tide and whether it is ebbing or in flood. In this case, taken about 1½ hours before high water Strangford, the "Portaferry II" had just departed Portaferry and was taking a longer route south and then (approximately) south west/west as her skipper took account of the effects on the incoming tide. Continue to 1181787. |
