Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Sign of the Blue Lion - geograph.org.uk - 1061216.jpg |
English: The Sign of the Blue Lion. Sign of 673585.
Trish Steel tells me that "The Blue Lion is taken from the arms of the Royal House of Denmark and in particular Queen Anne (1574-1619) - she was the wife of James I and mother of Charles I." There has been a pub of this name in the village for centuries, but the current name-holder is a Hungry Horse pub which only opened in February 2003. |
