| Description |
English: Sand being unloaded from the wagons in Ravenhead Siding into a fleet of lorries taking it to the float glass works less than half a mile away. As each wagon was emptied the diesel locomotive moved the rake one wagon up the line. According to RTT the train originated in Port Talbot so it would seem we import sand! Mind you it is a long time since the miniature railway trundled along to shift the the Sherdley sands which were dug from under the peaty soil in nearby Rainford! |
