Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe River Nadder at Harnham Mill, Salisbury.jpg |
English: These modern hatches (or Sluices) are situated just above the Old Mill Inn at Harnham. They maintain a head of water to hypothetically drive the mill. They also maintain a level of water to drown the nearby meadows by means of other hatches just beyond the redbrick house in the upper part of the picture. The ancient vertical wooden hatches have been replace by semicircular steel hatches which open in a vertical semicircular arc. |
