| Description |
English: The Promenade, Grange-over-Sands. Looking northwards towards the station. The mainline railway crosses the Kent estuary at Arnside, SD4579 follows the shoreline past Grange-over-Sands to Kirkhead End near Kents Bank, SD3975 before it cuts inland towards Barrow-in-Furness SD2269.
The colonisation by grass of the sands at Grange have created this surreal scene of sheep grazing on salt marsh where you would expect to see a sandy beach. The beautiful promenade gardens, the well-maintained railings, numerous benches looking out across Morecambe Bay and concrete ramps and steps leading down to the once sandy "beach" highlight the effect.
