Description
Nederlands: Het jaarlijkse polotournooi van de poloclub Wassenaar. Polo is van oorsprong een Argentijnse sport. Een sport voor macho's en rijken, want je moet over veel paarden beschikken. Er zijn professionals en amateurs. Een poloveld beslaat 5 voetbalvelden. De wedstrijd is verdeeld in 4 periodes (chukka) van 7 minuten. Na elke chukka krijgt iedere ruiter een vers paard. De stick waarmee geslagen wordt, heet mallet. Na elk doelpunt wordt van spelrichting veranderd, zodat iedereen evenveel last c.q. voordeel heeft van veld en weer. De bal is van plastic of hout en weegt 135 gram. Er worden balsnelheden bereikt van 120km per uur.
