| Description |
English: The North Dam, Caerphilly Castle The defensive wall supports the North Dam of Caerphilly Castle and was probably built by Gilbert de Clare around 1280 some ten years after the main castle. For many years the moat and lakes around the castle were drained and this has cause subsidence resulting a large crack in the masonry between the wall and the buttress towers. |
