Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Moyles Court Oak, New Forest - geograph.org.uk - 315768.jpg |
English: The Moyles Court Oak, New Forest This ancient oak stands next to a junction of minor roads near Moyles Court. The tree (now somewhat truncated) was sketched by Heywood Sumner in the early 1930s and it appeared as the frontispiece of his "Local Papers". The gravel track in his picture has been replaced by the tarmac of the modern road; turning left takes you to Linwood and right to Rockford. In the background on the right is the disused sandpit on the edge of Rockford Common. |
