Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built somewhere in the 16th century by Sher Shah Suri, Lal Darwaza, the name apparent because of the red sandstone, was used as an entry and exit point for the subjects during his reign. On one side, it is flanked by Khairu'L Manzil Masjid, the remains of the arcades suggest there might have been a shopping complex here. Restoration is robust due to its proximity to the Old Fort complex, and the fact that it lies right next to Mathura Road. It forms a convenient spot for the traffic police to sneak in a noose when as the sun gets high.
