| Description |
English: The Market Hall in The Square A rainy day in February keeps this usually bustling town centre somewhat deserted.
The Old Market Hall is a late C16 two-storey building originally used for the sale of corn downstairs and for dealing in Welsh woollen cloth above. It has also been in past times a magistrates court (upstairs) and an air raid shelter (below). In the early C21 it received a major makeover and now houses a smart cinema and cafe. |
