t Warwick Hall, disagree-ables and all, are working together for my good. So matters went on for several weeks. Marymeekly hung up Ethelindas dresses and put theroom in order whenever it was disarranged, andEthelinda, always accustomed to being waited upon,took it as a service due her from one whom ne-cessity had placed in a position always to serve. Ifshe had accepted it silently Mary might have goneon to the end of the term making excuses for her,and making good her neglect; but Ethelinda re-marked one day to one of the Sophomores that ifMary Ware ever wanted a recommendation as ladysmaid she would gladly give it. Half a dozen bookswent next, tumbling pell mell into a corner. ThenEthelindas bed-room slippers, over which Mary wasalways stumbling, hurtled through the air, and anivory hair-brush that had been left on her dressing-table.
