S very much pleased to visit the small country week-end how hich Hal Williams was remodeling, for I had especially liked the h iday house he designed for the Journal a few years ago. Now thatJournal was planning the kitchen in his house, I drove over the grspring hills to see it for myself. Here was a designer remodeling a not very inspiring old house instof building a new one. Why? I wondered, but soon learned that HaLfound this the most practical thing to do at this time.
